British Standard BS 5200 Fitting
1. Structural Design Advantages
Core design targets British standard pipe systems, addressing “poor compatibility between British standard threads and tapered seals, prone to leakage under high pressure”:
Sealing Structure: Employs a “37° taper + British standard thread dual seal” configuration. The fitting body incorporates a 37° internal taper that mates with the flared end of a rigid pipe (or the cutting edge of a ferrule) to form a metal-to-metal seal. - metal-to-metal seal. Paired with British Standard Parallel Thread (BSPP) or Tapered Thread (BSPT), the threaded section can optionally incorporate sealant/PTFE tape for auxiliary sealing, meeting medium-to-high pressure sealing requirements.
Core Components: Primarily consists of the fitting body (with BSP threads and 37° taper), locking nut, and ferrule (included in some models). Certain straight/right-angle models integrate anti-loosening structures to minimize nut loosening caused by vibration.
2. Key Features
Compatibility: Fits British pipe sizes (e.g., 1/8“, 1/4”, 3/8" corresponding to pipe OD), compatible with carbon steel/stainless steel rigid pipes meeting BS EN 10305-4 standards. Also compatible with some JIC 37° flared fitting installation tools (e.g., flaring tools, torque wrenches), reducing cross-standard usage costs.
Working Pressure: Maximum working pressure 350-400 bar (varies by pipe diameter: up to 400 bar for smaller diameters, 350 bar for larger diameters).
Fitting Material Options: Carbon steel, stainless steel.
